You need to upload the photos to somewhere like Photobox or Photobucket etc. You then paste the link from there to here in the [img] brackets.
-
You need to host them somewhere else like photobucket.com and link them in using the insert picture button putting the http://www.photobucket.com/myphoto.jpg inbetween the brackets.
Hope that mish mash made sense. :y

Like this . . .
If u hit the quote button you will see the code used - put your own location for your pics between the tags - hope that explains

How to insert pictures in the main text please? is that the same? Seems a lot of faff to open a photobucket accoount. Is there no drag and drop?
-
I use postimage. Its very easy from there.
-
ok ta for quick reply; was trying to avoid yet another account however.
What happens when the hosting sites change? So many forum posts all over the internet have missing pictures and are thereby rendered useless. Others that can accept the pictures natively do not and still have a long use life....
-
There's a guide of how to use postimage in the link below. It's quite straight forward and you don't need to pay or open an account. :y

Many thanks Sir Tigger however still a long process in these click and collect times! The long-winded issue stopped me posting some cam wear comparison photos.
Nb this is not meant to be a negative comment but rather more constructive, as have both recent suggestions been. Thanks again

Unfortunately it doesn't get any simpler than that AFAIK. :-\
I agree that it's still a bit of a faff! ::) :(
-
Not to worry and thanks again. It's a bit academic really as I've had no internet all evening anyway!

For technical and financial (note, there are no embedded ads on this site, or subscriptions) reasons, we are not able to provide image hosting for members. Hence all the guides in the Newbie section, for how to post pictures. Obviously, this means that a drag and drop type setup is purposely disabled on this forum.
For our FAQ and Maintenance Guides, when members post them, we* copy the images to one of our own servers, so the guide will always remain in tact.
Hope that clarifies why we manage images like we do?
*99 times out of 100, Jimbob does it. And a great job he does too :y
