Where is the brakelight switch on these cars ,as swmbo car the brake lights are on constantly.

above the passenger's feet .,........... she's had a big footed clumsy bugger as a passenger that has kicked the switch off hence the lights on all the time  :y :y :y

how's the fan belt tensioned? It's not an auto/sprung tensioner, but a cursory glance in the engine bay without a torch & not wishing to lie on the ground, I couldn't see how it moved.  ???

I had a look earlier and theres a hole in bracket,but couldnt find switch in that area.

Two 6mm Allen bolts hold tensioner in place on a bracket with another Allen key at the bottom pointing straight up to adjust tension

Thanks Henry ...... as said, I wasn't dressed for crawling under & I couldn't see properly from above. It's already cost me a headlight bulb, he was going to take it to a garage to change it! Even worse, he mention taking it to Halfords!  :o  ;D ;D

Give him your tool kit and tell him you need a cambelt change.  If he seems eager, he's a keeper.  If he starts crying, let your daughter do it!  :P
