Post by: omega3000 on 02 November 2014, 12:02:28
How the hell does the side trim come off above the driver right side door to the front screen  :-\ I can see it slides a wee bit but no way will it come off withough snapping something  :( And putting it back on would be impossible me thinks  ::)

Should just pop off. Think the handle above driver should come off. Trim foes from dash to b pillar though

Lower B pillar trim, pops off.
Upper B pillar trim, two screws visible at bottom, one at top behind alarm sensor/funny shaped panel.
Then comes away. Leave hanging on upper seat belt bolt.
Drivers grab handle off two hidden screws.
Then from above the door pull the A pillar trim away, working forward until it's free then lift away from the dash/screen end.
Retrieve all the clips stuck in the A pillar and refit to the trim panel...

Bish, bash, bosh :y

Refitting is reverse, but line the trim up by inserting the front, lower corner first then give it a thump to locate the clips in the A pillar. When refitting the B pillar upper trim ensure the belt height adjuster is correctly located and once screwed inplace make sure the door rubbers are correctly located... this also applies to the B pillar lower trim :y

P.S. haven't you done it yet ::) ;D :y

No not been in the car for 3 days  ::) ;D The last time i looked the lower part you mention looked to be plastic welded to the upper part so it has to come off in one piece  :(

I think maybe if the lower part pops off the n i can slide the rest back off the trim hooks  :-\

As I typed earlier... ::)

Just pull it off...

Retrieve the clips from the metal A pillar...

Refit clips to the plastic trim...

Refit trim when ready... :y

Don't be tempted to just stuff the wire along the windscreen edge as it will most likely get sliced if the screen ever needs replacing  :-\
