My head gasket has been leaking for some time and I'd planned to have a go at it at the end of the month (honestly!), however it seems that the headgasket has had other ideas and has gone properly! :'( :'( :'(
I've got a steady drip of mayo from the back of the engine and there's mayo on the dipstick. :( I thought something was up this morning when the LPG took ages to switch and then the 'Coolant Low' message popped up! ::) It's still running fine though and not overheating, but I guess that's only a matter of time now.... :-\
The bastid of it is that I'm in South Wales and was planning on driving back to Dorset tonight. Looks like I'm tow trucking it back tomorrow now! :( :( :(

Fill up a couple of bottles of water and drive it home. If it's breaked, it's breaked.
Keep a keen eye on the Temp gauge. If it's not losing too much coolant, a steady plod on the M5, you'll be fine.

The end ? You not goint to fix it mr tig :( Bagsy lpg kit first :P

I have been wondering about doing that to be honest. :-\ It's the fact that the coolant is going into the oil that bothers me, but I guess like you say if I don't let it over heat.... ::)
