That was in 1865, Mark.

You also got to shag the landowners daughter. :)

A free shag is a free shag, Henry.

You're far too fussy for someone who comes from Cornwall. ;D

It's only a small piece of land set out in a triangular shape.

Roughly 60 feet (at it's longest) by 30 feet (at its widest) before coming to a point. Triangle shape.

How many square feet or what proportion of an acre that is I don't know.

I shall measure it properly when I get the chance.

He's building a triangular shaped house so that, whatever angle they come at, lorries just deflect off the side. :y

60x30 is not big enough for a house. In fact it's barely a big enough area for your whippet to take a dump. :)

That's about 0.02 of an acre!

So jack all......although as you want it......expect it to be four figures.....

0.2.......one fifth or 20% of an acre sounds nearer the mark, Mark....Or perhaps my maths is flawed. :-\

One acre is 4940 square yards. So roughly 70 yards by 70 yards. Not that big really.

I thought you said 60 x 30 foot triangle e.g. 200 square yards divide 2 as its a triangle....so 100 square yards .

so 0.02 - 0.04 of an acre  :-\

I've measured it as best I can. it is roughly 54 feet by 24 feet.

so.....1296 sq feet. This figure must be divided by 2 because the land is triangle shaped. This gives us roughly  648 square feet.

With 9 square feet to a square yard this gives us  72 square yards.

With 4940 sq yards to an acre, 72 square yards represents approximately 0.0145 of an acre........or 1.45%.

Looks as though you were right, Mark. :y
