Title: Velour not Leather Elite interior up for grabs
Post by: Diamond Black Geezer on 07 November 2014, 15:57:33
I'm heading to my local scrappy tomorrow to cannibalise every single thing I can get off a nice low mileage FL Elite (should never have been scrapped, of course, probably cambelt failure  >:( )

Just giving members a head-up that there's a pale grey velour interior in there. Of course with memory seats, and heated front and rears. Sadly they're not worth a great deal, but just in case there's any members out there that don't fancy baking hot leather in summer, or you own a GLS or similar and fancy an upgrade, without going the 'whole hog' and having leather.

Can't post in For Sale as don't own the parts in question, and of course  I can't just go and buy everything off the car, just on the off-chance I can then re-sell over here. Not least of all because I'd say OOF prices are generally lower that the scrappy  ;)  So just trying to help out members if I can. It's there, but won't be in a week or two  :'(

I thought all Elite models came with leather.

I believe it was a no-cost option to have Velour.  :-\

I believe you're right. :y

Leather looks better. Other than that it's a pain in the arse.

Leather is certainly not the 'Goldilocks' material.

Too cold in winter........Too hot in summer. It is rarely 'just right'. :y

Not to mention sweaty. ;D

My Manager was telling me that years ago when he was middle management as a large firm, All managers and the Directors had Omega's as company cars.  All were Elites.............

Except, the middle management cars were spec'd with Velour, as too not seem to be as good as the Director's cars.  ;D

Zeke had non-original CDX leather when I got him, so I swapped it out for some MV6 cloth. Much nicer place to be, especially when driving like me (ie in a manner likely to cause early arrival)...

Apologies, this is Grimsby.  :)

They've actually very kindly put the whole car aside for me (!) so nothing else will go missing, as I'm hoping to have basically the whole engine bay, excluding the block  :D

2.5/2.6 Elite has velour as standard with leather as a cost option, 3.0/3.2 had leather as standard with velour as a no cost option
