Title: Jumping CD
Post by: woolley11 on 07 November 2014, 22:42:23
The six stack changer CD on my pfl MV6 seems to jump a lot on some CDs.

Plus it sometimes bypasses some CDs in the cassette - going from CD 2 to CD 4 without warning.

Is there any particular reason for this ?

I did thnk of a CD cleaner to try and I do have a spare Blaupunkt unit I can try (it's I paired with the same head unit in the car) - didn't want to swop over CD player if it's just dirty heads??

Sounds like the laser is on the way out, unless the discs are badly scratched. When it does it, eject the disc cartridge, and check the discs for misting/condensation as well.

These units aren't "paired", both the HU and the CDC2 have their own code that requires re-entry after battery disconnection.

Thanks - I've checked the discs and they all seem ok.

It's ok when you first put the cartridge in but after a few plays it starts "playing up"

I thought the CD players were "paired" depending on the head unit - my HU is a CCRT700.

I do have a spare CD with a spare CCRT700 so may swop over the CD player and see if that one is better.
