And for a online car dealer his camera skills are rubbish...

Very shabby pictures, doesn't look like its had a cambelt for a while either judging by the service history!

Age and mileage... 80-100k is wishbones/steering idler/hbv/coil pack/camcover gaskets/gearbox fluid and filter territory.
100-120k and you're into shocks and rear subframe bushes
Plus the possibility of exhaust and brake work.
Of course that all depends on if it's been properly looked after or simply serviced :-\
-
Budget for that lot on ANY omega imo. Just to get up to scratch.
....but then you should be set for the same mileage again (IF using decent parts obviously)
-
Well nice colour. Says full service history. You never know it might have been well looked after. Worth checking out.
They don't make them anymore you know. ;D ;D

Indeed to both points :y
My post might have seemed negative :-\ not meant to be, but anyone buying that as their first Omega might get fed up with replacing bits...
If the bodywork is sound and the engine essentially smooth and leak free, then it should be a sound purchase :y
Just be realistic and budget accordingly :y

Best ever engine - never really thought about that before. Was it an advanced engine design for it`s time ???

Internet says the 20XE. was the best
And for the 2.2 it says ;
Every
Component
On
This
Engine
Crap
;D ;D ;D
-
Clearly it's the second best engine as the best one has to be V8 flavoured ::)
-

Nope. It was a warmed-over version of a design a decade old as a stop-gap to meet new emissions regs before its' replacement a couple of years later.
I'd say there were plenty of more advanced engines on the market by then.

Dont miss this one then ::) Have a good poke around and anything that needs replacing you can bid him down :) Too many 3.2's around at the minute ;D

And in performance/economy, a step back from its predecessor :'(

It is still a good looker and for that price, even with what needs doing. still a good deal :y :y

Why's that then ??? Although ive had leather before and prefer cloth , that black leather looks really nice :y
-
If you want an Omega that requires none of the usual jobs doing, expect to pay 2-3 times the asking price of that one :y
-
That's good to know, then. When I'm done with the V6 it'll have had all them jobs done, including...
service, all fluids, filters, cambelt, Poly and GM-bushed wishbones, Bilstein shocks front and rear, new strut mounts, all rust cured.... I was estimating the car to be worth just under 1k... you telling me it'll be worth £4.5k? cool 8)

Er not quite ;D but there's a good reason why the very best low mileage cars sell for upwards of £3k :y

How did it get an MOT with EML on? Not saying it isn't a bargain.
-
Its no elite ..far from it. but the low mileage cars are out there... That one as just come on there.
-
Well I'm not doing it for the money of course, the intention is not to resell once finished; but the idea of a car which, for a projected budget of about £1k needs (in theory) nothing doing to it for several years, with all likely parts (excluding consumables, of course) either replaced or cleaned/serviced/restored, I'm going to be a happy chap. Admittedly not low-mileage, at 178k, but hopefully anyone who sees her (when finished that is, not now, god, she's a state!! ;D) will be quite pleased with the result.
I hope.... ::)
