Basically I'm after a part number for the L.P. A/C Valve to save you reading all of the below...
...The windscreen has been misting up badly as soon as the sun goes down, Doesn't matter if you use hot/cool air, fan Full or Low speed Etc.. I say cool rather than cold as the A/C has leaked again... I presume this is why the windscreen is misting up as bad as it is anyway?
This is where the part number comes into play, I've been searching and searching and can't find any genuine omega LP vales for the A/C... I used a new normal tyre valve roughly 2 months ago it had a red ring which the one it replaced also had a red ring and looked identical, Anyway with the new valve it lasted roughly 5-7 weeks, Better than the 3 weeks prior to the new valve..
Saying that I did notice some bubbles once I remo the dust cap once home after having the A/C done so it's a good chance it's onl that that's leaki to last so long hopefully, I scored the dust cap back on as tight as possible just hopeing it would last the winter, Which it has decided not too.
I'm just going to give in next summer and buy the bloody pipe with the valve on if I can't find a proper A/C LP valve for it. Which no doubt will be around £250-£300 all in :-\

That's the valve at the top of the engine ....... not at the front by the rad? :-\
I can't help with a part number, but the top (tyre valve type) valve is normally the only valve that the parts lads can find on EPC ::)

The answer is here: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=125817.msg1605532#msg1605532 (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=125817.msg1605532#msg1605532) or here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=125817.msg1604750#msg1604750 (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=125817.msg1604750#msg1604750)
I got the GM ones http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/R134A-AIRCON-GM-SCHRADER-VALVE-CORE-PACK-5-2673-/400198885451?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item5d2db6604b (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/R134A-AIRCON-GM-SCHRADER-VALVE-CORE-PACK-5-2673-/400198885451?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item5d2db6604b) but I also got some of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TYRE-VALVE-CORE-REMOVER-REMOVAL-TOOL-WHEEL-INNERTUBE-FOUR-FREE-CORES-/201066297456?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyre_Trims_Trims_ET&hash=item2ed07c3870 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TYRE-VALVE-CORE-REMOVER-REMOVAL-TOOL-WHEEL-INNERTUBE-FOUR-FREE-CORES-/201066297456?pt=UK_Cars_Parts_Vehicles_Wheels_tyre_Trims_Trims_ET&hash=item2ed07c3870)
My problem was actually the High Pressure valve instead which can easily be changed (when de-gassed) as valve unscrews and is NOT part of the pipework contrary to what the Garages will try to fleece you for !! HP valve is only a few quid. The part number and guide for that is on the OOF guide at http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=124057.0 (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=124057.0) :y

Tried them before using the normal car tyre type as they didn't fit.
HP Is fine completey bone dry no issues, Did change that a few months ago anyway :y

Do Vauxhall sell just the LP valve ???

Vauxhalls are adamant that they do not sell the LP valve, Just that section of pipe, It's so tiresome arguing with them. :-\
They said the same thing about the HP valve before I gave them the part number.
Hopefully someone knows the part number I can give to these numpties...

Stealers gave me the wrong part also >:(

The EPC diagram isn't clear, but the part numbers are definitive.
The valve is most definitely available separately... I bought two thinking both valves were the same ::) (don't get your hopes up though, long since sold the spare to someone else...)
-
Btw, you know what I think of your dealer :-X
They couldn't identify an Vauxhall product if you drove it through the showroom window, breakless onanists...

Was it Andy C who works at Vauxhalls on OOF :-\

This what it looks like & shows that it's NOT integral to the pipe

Omegadoha, Desert Member Asks for the LP part number but no one got back to him by looks of it :-\

You can buy then in Helfrods... schraeder valve core, hell for a fiver the numpties would probably even fit it ::)

Oh no they wont ;D ...Did ask them to fit the HP valve they said they wont, (managed it myself anyway ;)) Can't remember their exact words but i'm sure they said something about replacing that section of pipe ::)
Have already tried a new schraeder valve and it still has a slow leak, That's why i'm trying to get a R134a compatible type, Ideally a genuine GM one or a R134a compatible one that will do for the Omega :-\
-
Fitted properly, it shouldn't leak :-\
-
Fitted properly, it shouldn't leak :-\
To top it off according to them it isn't leaking anyway under the leak test they do... Does last roughly 3-5 weeks before its barely cooling at all, But the A/C clutch still spins, Although there's no condensation on the pipes whatsoever, Last time it was done it apparently had something like 120g in the system and they put in 950g there abouts.
-
Condensor leaks like a sieve once it starts to fall apart, they tend to rot away from bottom up :-\
Compressors aren't known for being gas tight either :-\

I hope its neither of them but its an old car after all who knows :-\
Checking the history awhile back it had a few new A/C related parts Compressors, Condensor few years ago around 2009/2010
-
Be due a new Condensor then more than likely :-\
Drop the undertray and you'll soon see if it's falling apart :y

Assuming that the AC muppets who filled it put dye in, the leak, no matter how slow, should be obvious to them.
-
Pt/No 3041827 is the smaller valve & 13277003 should be the larger type as in Andy B picture
These are the only two numbers listed for the AC Valves
Cheers

In my brief look at EPC yesterday, 3041827 looked to be the front one, which is what Andy B posted?

The muppets in question are a bunch from a Vauxhall main dealer garage, Doubt they did put any dye in tbh well they never said anything anyway.

Would be great-full if you could look into the Low Pressure valve part number AndyC :)
I did however type the part number above in Google and found this which looks more like I'd have thought the proper one to look like LINK (http://www.classicindustries.com/product/truck/parts/g9791.html)

Which look nothing like the valve I removed from mine :-\
-
Look on the bright side. You won't need cold air for a while.
-
Easy way to check for a leak at those valves (while the system can still create some pressure) is to remove the black caps and splash a bit of soapy water on them. It will bubble if it leaks....
Condensor swap is easy but getting the coolant radiator out and back in is a little fiddly due to the fittings on the passenger side of the radiator.
If the compressor is leaking the die can usually be seen on the underside, failure mode is usually the large O rings that the two end sections use to seal against the main body of the unit - the wash of salt water etc on the bottom of the unit off the road is thought to be the cause. Sassanach was trying to source the O rings when I last saw him as he could only find them listed on the USA and no one wants to ship O rings worth a few pence across the pond.

Not really why I'm trying to get it working this time of year, It really helps de-misting :y

Aye tried these they don't fit the Omega, Must be for some different GM A/C system :-\

Tried something similar and there is the occasional bubble, Also noticed when removing the dust cap there's a far amount of pressure being released, Safe to say it is leaking, The HP valve is the complete opposite since replacing it :y
-
Who fitted the valve? Have you tried nipping it up :-\
Oddly enough, helfrods also sell valve insert tools ::) no leaking from mine, purchased from there and fitted with a valve tool from the same source, by me... system was drained and gassed by a competent garage, which your chosen Vx dealer has repeatedly proven not to be :-X
-
Those Shraeder valves do tend to play up a bit. Something is telling me that if the valve is buggered, you do need to replace the pipe, unlike the HP port.
You can try as many inserts as you like, but if the valve is knackered (some hamfisted idiot has overtightened) then you'll never get a good seal.
Last ditch effort would be to apply some decent epoxy to the threads of the insert and install it. You have nothing to lose.
-
Have ordered the part using AndyC part number, Should be in a few days.
-
Here's the valve from AndyC part number...

-
See, standard schraeder valve, nothing fancy ::)
Have you tried nipping it up yet?
-
LP valve is a standard tyre valve core. Cost £1.00 at most.
If its not screwing down enough to form a seal, try a dob of liquid ptfe on core threads.
-
Aye it's fitted nice and snug Al replaced it myself took my time to make sure it went in as it should...
There's a good chance it's valve related, As once I replaced the old valve with a new cheap one (when I say cheap I mean cheap £1.50 delivered for x5 plus the tool) it lasted a good 2 weeks longer I'd say more than the previous refill, Plus I did notice less bubbles with the new valve, hopefully this valve will do the job there's no excuses this time, Time will tell :y
-
The bloke who charged my aircon replaced both valves and said the normal schraeder valves for car tyres will leak as the rubber seal in them is not suitable for the gas used. Perhaps that is BS but the system is working fine at the moment.
-
.....I did notice less bubbles with the new valve
There shouldn't be any
-
.....I did notice less bubbles with the new valve

Aye I know, I went on the advice before any valve like this would do and it clearly hasn't worked in my case could well be the cheap valve I bought but their all none R134a compatible I'd have thought... Hopefully this GM one will do the trick with its fancy black ring.
Will update on how this saga goes :y
-
It's been re-gassed today, no leaks apparently, Even gave the car a wash :o ... Should make for an interesting watch later ;) ;D
