Title: Are crank sensors normally this jammed in??
Post by: Diamond Black Geezer on 14 November 2014, 12:03:21
Yup... at scrappy, see a crank sensor - certainly worth it as a spare, as it's the right type. Undo the torx stud, it rotates fractionally, but could I pull it out? No chance! Could be the cold, and it couldnt get a driver in to lever it out - wasn't sure if that was a good idea to start levering it...

Next time I go back, anyone have any tips on how to get them - just a pair of pliers, or am I just a wimpy wussy girly-girl for not being able to??

Whimpy wuss.

No knack. I just give it a rotational wiggle. There is an o-ring seal that is probably causing your problem, just keep wiggling whilst pulling.

As its a tight fit anyway, levering will make it worse.

Haha!  :D Good to know  :)

I'll also blame the cold, I couldnt really feel my fingers. Will get in again next week. Thanks, much appreciated

I have come across one on a 2.6 the stud had been threaded, still worked though, but someone had decided to Arodite the sensor it in as good measure  ::)
