Why oh why oh why would anybody buy a silver car with light interior. They depreciate too heavily.

And being slightly earlier, the door cards just look filthy

Very tempting, if my TD Estate wasn't still going so well I would have an excuse for buying it, thus having a matching pair of silver 3.2 Elites on the drive. :-\ :-\ :-\

I don't know if you've seen them but there have been several posts and threads regarding lack of 3.2's for sale. I thought it would be helpfull to post the add for others if they happen to be interested.

I didn't think for one minute that I would be required to justify doing so based on the colour of the interior, or the spec of head unit, to those who either already have a 3.2 or those that don't even have an omega at all. Much less any intention of buying one.

Oppsing Retards!

Its a problem with the LCD panel. Only viable fix is a replacement LCD panel.

opps me ..... I asked a simple question of how you knew it had a CID when the ad made no mention of it (the dealer probably doesn't even know it was an option way back when) and as far as I could see the photos didn't show enough of the dash to see .............. and I had seen the thread re lack of 3.2 estates

I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition!

Probably not cost effective, when a new panel is only around £150...   ...although their availability is unreliable

First estate looks like a good value potential purchase :y

Saloon looks ok at a glance, if a bit pricey for age... :-\

Second estate... well I said my piece when numbnuts first posted the link a while back, but in case anyones deaf, I would expect the headlight sensors replaced/field vision error cleared at that money :-X

Not to mention having the correct tyres fitted to it...

And if it were to get spacers fitted, I wouldn't even entertain it :-\

Potentially being in the market for a battlebus replacement, the estate almost got my interest up, but I couldn't live with the interior. I think one of the reasons I couldn't get on with Goldie was the god awful interior.

Additionally my sensible head comes on, if I'm going to have a 20mpg car, it may as well be quicker or more luxurious than a crappy 3.2 auto...

Not just aimed at you, but yours was a convenient point to quote from, so...

Is it an issue that members discuss various details about cars that are for sale?  We are an Omega site, and we like to discuss Omegas, obviously. Not that many of us are interested in actually buying one, seeing as we likely have one anyway.

I see that as the hour changed, and the dark nights start in the afternoon, the annual crankiness/aggression/blinkeredness/time of the month (that'll get me in trouble with LZ :P) nastiness between members steps up a gear. And its not acceptable from anyone, as per the forum guidelines.

Read, heed.

Do you ever wish you hadn't bothered too?  :(
Not just aimed at you, but yours was a convenient point to quote from, so...

Read, heed.
Clearly your looking for more positive input. And quite rightly. So, likewise, I would suggest you do the same, as it strikes me that hypocracy rules occasionally.

Bang on :y. In fact any input that isn't negative, unfriendly or derogatory to our members. That's not to say we're to be straight laced with no banter, as that's likely to be (almost) equally destructive. To use a management wankword, glad we're now on the same page :)

I expect the admin team to pick up anyone where any member comes across as transgressing the guidelines :)

I might go and have a look at this one actually (seeing as I work in Fareham)

I am finding the 2.2 a little slow sometimes - although on my last long trip I averaged 40.2mpg over 520 miles, something I doubt the 3.2 would do

No it won't. But then as I have lpg and don't concern myself with mpg figures, I'm probably not the best person to advise on economy.

A manual 3.2 estate driven reasonably sensibly will manage 450 miles from a tank at a push, and typically 400 miles...

However, start hammering an auto one and you'll struggle to manage 280 miles from a tank, carefully though you should see 350 miles... :-\

Rog would be worth asking about that as his 3.2 does some decent length journeys :y

On a good run at a constant, almost legal, motorway cruise a 3.2 auto saloon should just touch 30mpg, be lucky to get much more.  Day to day, low twenties is more realistic, unless you hammer it or do a lot of urban, in which case you're in the teens.

I assume you mean the battlebus, rather than one of the Omegas? If so, not yet, still pondering what to do.

30mpg, if you hypermile (http://www.wikihow.com/Hypermile), I suppose. On my run up the M1 or A1M, I get 20mpg. Ok, 10% more to compensate for LPG. The 2.2 on the other hand is/was very economical.

I drove to Huntingdon yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the journey. Foul weather. Idiot drivers (There's defo something in the water up there in Northants you know), traffic, road works, bad roads.... No problem. Nice comfy warm car.

It even drove straight for a while ;D

Why would I want to change it? There's nothing suitable. Nothing! ....for sensible money anyway.

Although parts are becoming an issue. That D shared o ring on the plenum is NA so add that to the list.

Recent starting point in North London to Glasgow is 398 miles via M6 Toll. Tank brimmed with Shell V Power, Just about get there there with low fuel light on. Reasonably light right foot, but not crawling along at 50 or whatever.

If I believe the MPG calculator, I can just about get 30mpg by being really frugal, but on a run at motorway speeds around 26.27. Around town, you don't wanna know . . . . .. Note: I nearly always use V Power which is 99 ron, I'm happy to pay the extra but NOT at motorway services.  >:(

30mpg is what I once managed from Tenby to Oxford, mostly at 80mph, with a bit of high speed for a few miles, in the 3.2 saloon.

I have managed the magical 500 miles from a tank in the 3.0 saloon, which is far more economical.

TA - what could you achieve on a good motorway run at, say, 80mph, assuming no numpties on the motorway causing braking/acceleration?

High twenties, but yes... in pure cost, the Merc uses the same value of fuel as the Omega 28/23mpg respectively...

Replacement should be 24/30mpg respectively, but it has a six speed slush box and 150bhp per tonne, which is nearly twice the Merc :-\
