Thinking about organising a weekend meet next spring time on the east coast.
Nothing flash, just find a camp / caravan site with a decent pub nearby which will take a few members / cars and have a bit of a piss up :y :y :
Also maybe work on a few cars if sober enough ;D
Not sure if its going to be north or south of the Humber yet :-\
Just gauging interest ;)
Anybody up for it ??
Stick you names / suggestions down below if interested :)

I'm down for that mate!!

Could be a possible, depending on dates and sufficient members going to make it worthwhile.

I remember I stayed in Grimsby once......... anyway, get them to close the Bridge for a weekend and we can have a Cambelt Partly then do some Speed Test in private. :y

Grimsby is on the telly tonight. 9 o'clock. Skint. Have a look, you know you want to. ;D

I have gone across that bridge at some speed :y makes a change from doing 56mph

Yep. Interested. I'm in Cleethorpes. The town that's basically glued to the side of Grimsby.
Cleethorpes is posher. We shampoo our rats in Lynx and everything.

Was interesting to see - carefully edited, to outrage those of a Daily Mail persuasion...
We would certainly be up for a coastal meet, given enough notice to wiggle our shifts around...
-
Interested Steve. But I'm guessing near to Skeggy huh.. ;)
-
Yes . . . slightly South of the Humber would be better for me though ;D ;D

Can direct all to a fantastic Pub in Cleethorpes, with loads of Railwayana, best Real Ale pub in the town, and for miles around. Independent, not a chain Wetherspoons or anything. Parking for a dozen vehicles, secret menu on a Monday, do steak on thursday, fish n chips friday, sunday roasts on.. sunday. (best hangover cure ever) all cooked fresh, locally sourced.
B & Bs a two minute walk away.
Instead of a Halloween-plastic-pumpkins-and-spray-cobwebs thing, they did a fundraiser for the Royal British Legion in the form of a Forces weekend, which I am happy to say I helped with (including loaning my Air Raid siren ;D)

Sorry
Totally forgot about this thread :-[ :-[ :-[
Okay, my situation is due to family commitments / lack of stable employment, i'm not going to be able to sort this out this year :(
If one of the lads around this area wants to find a camp site or large pub car park were a few members can turn up, get pished fix cars ect, please feel free :y
If I can help, please PM me and i'll see if I can BUT know way can I take the lead on this :(
Genuine apologies if anybody feels let down :-[

Not let down at all, things happen and we all get busy. I'm moving house, so I know your pain :)
Right, I propose simplicity. My local is the Number 1 Pub, Cleethorpes. It was built in 1863, the oldest Railway building on the Lincolnshire Coast; it has a plethora of Railwayana displayed there, and most importantly serves Real Ale, fantastic quality locally sourced proper pub grub, at very cheap prices. It's also got a long narrow stretch of ground about one-carlength-deep to the side, as well as a ruddy great bus park opposite. I'll have a natter with the Landlord, see if we could arrange either official cones to reserve a few spaces on the rough ground, or even via the council to get a section of the (mostly always empty) bus park cordoned off for us.
There's a campsite/caravan/premier inn park on the other side of town about three mile up the road. I'm the guy who designs the posters for the Pub, so will check what's on in terms of live events / festivals / etc over the next couple of months, see if we could coincide the trip with a band or something maybe.

Above photo was weekend just gone, for the Armed Forces Weekend celebrations (before opening, incidentally, in case you're wondering why there's no punters!)
