You could argue that the Powersounder is 'sort of in' the wing as well.

Where/how did you get your batteries refurbed, please? I know the usual thing is to just pull the wires / bin it altogether.  :y

Nowt to do with the power sounder at all .. that is a function of the normal alarm.

Powersounder and normal alarm are two separate and discrete units that work very differently.

The ONLY thing the powersounder does is to monitor for disconnection of the main battery, as this would prevent the normal alarm sounding.

Define " normal alarm " bearing in mind that i know full well that the horn alarm that sits next to the power sounder is not functioning, and that the only part of the alarm system making any noise AT ALL on my car, is the power sounder. That is to say, that if I remove the power sounder and trip the alarm, the indictors all flash as normal, but the car makes no noise whatsoever.

Perhaps you'd explain that to me....? Mr Entwood!

Well, my power-sounder fires along with the horn in a normal alarm trigger.......

An abnormal trigger is when the power supply (car battery) is disconnected in which case only the powersounder fires.... obviously!

So, the alarm went off, but you only heard the electronic sounder (from power sounder), not the horn noise from the unit next to powersounder?

That's certainly the way I read it, and seems to be the clarification you added  ???

If that is correct, your alarm horn is oppsed. Simples.
Title: Re: Inside Drivers wing on an Elite
Post by: chrisgixer on 10 December 2014, 19:46:16
I know its oppsed. You know it's oppsed ypu told me it was with tech 2. So we both know it's oppsed. Entwood knows it's oppsed now too.

Yet the glaring fact Entwood is telling me the power sounder is not part off the alarm, and therfor could not have woken me in the small hours escapes you completely.

I take it Brackley is in Northants as well then? Because talking to you previously made me think it might not of been, until today when I checked ;D

Easy test... even you can do it.... open window, shut car door, set alarm. wave a hand through the window until the alarm goes off. You will hear the Horn alarm for 30 seconds.

Cancel by using the keyfob to open the door. Open bonnet and leave open

Disconnect battery negative. Alarm siren will sound.

I couldn't give a rats arse what Entwood said, how the opps does that make the comments I made "Cobblers".  I repeat, you alarm horn unit is oppsed. You know it, I know it. Entwood probably now knows it if he could give a shit any more.

I never made any reference to Entwood's comment - although he is correct(ish) if the system is working, which he wouldn't have known at the time he posted that it wasn't. FFS, I couldn't remember ever Tech2'ing your black one.

So, get some nuts (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxv6Xkw8frE), and calm down please ;)

I don't give a dogs dangly what the book says. The power sounder went off and woke me. No amount of rule quoting, bible bashing or brow Beeting will change what happened.

Your more than welcome to come round and test it, and it's a simple test even you can do it. Set the alarm with abs tax disc on screen. Wait til it falls off. Siren WILL sound.
