Where did the term weatherbomb suddenly appear from?
-
Sounds much more dramatic on idiotter than "a storm" doesn't it?
-
Yeah mention bomb for attention panic ::)

Lets render all the fat weather forecasters :y
According to the lovely Lucy Verasamy
"
A 'weather bomb' - the latest weather-related buzz phrase in the papers which has whipped everyone into a frenzy this morning - is a term first used in 1980, and is commonly heard in New Zealand and the USA.
Forecasters don't use 'weather bomb' as a term here, we use the rather more modest 'explosive cyclogenesis' - and even then we would never use it in broadcasts unless we had time to explain.

No, bit windy but that is all, ask me tomorrow though given the forecast. TBH we either get loads, in the Darlington area, or none, we seem to have our own micro climate... :y
What you dong in Darlington?...............

Not dongs, that's for sure :o
Driving a customer up there for an hour long meeting, stopping Monday night at the Travelodge :y :y

Indeed Cleggy! :y :y :y
But they, and many others, are so now wound up in political correctness and "proper" inoffensive language that plain speaking as I was taught has disappeared, hence these weird new labels to describe something simple! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

As soon as the Daily Fail started talking about this weather bomb I suspected nothing would happen down here, and its got much warmer here, 8 degrees today and no wind. nice winters day.
