Just went to start my car and it wouldn't fire straight away, the second time it did... Went and did a quick job and it did it again... What do you think?? Starter motor?? I've just spent £405 getting some jobs done :'(
-
Does the starter run as normal but engine wont fire, or is the starter dead? If starter runs normally get the codes read and suspect crank sensor. ( if v6 atleast)
-
Cranking and not firing? Crank sensor.
See code reading in maintanance section index. You want the pedal trick. Count flashes. Look for 0335.
If present. New genuine sensor only, from a vx dealer only. Theory is the heat from the engine breaks them down over time. So expect the symptoms to get worse and eventually refuse to start completely.
Hope helps. :)
