Title: Post Xmas/new year do.
Post by: chrisgixer on 14 December 2014, 10:41:13
Well we've had the Xmas do, why not a post Xmas do as well ;D nooooo not greedy at all ;D

I don't go back to work until the 8th of jan, for example, so leaves a week free after New Year's Day and xmas festivities. Anyone free that week? Weekend of the 3rd/4th jan?

Or looking further at the calendar the 27 28 29 30th dec might be better as people might are more likely to be off work.

Any thoughts, no real preference personly. I do fancy a steak house do though :)

And the guys down in the South East deserve a do nearer them, they've done some miles on oof bashes.  :y

But whatever fits really.  :y

Might get a better picture of availability if we could choose more than one date?

Where is it to be held?

Wherever suits. We normally do curry but that's not for everyone. Depends who can make it first off, if they are all curry munchers then curry it is. Or not as the case maybe.
Likewise there's no point using Brackley as a location if only TB can attend. Or if everyone else can attend and he can't, as we'll be travelling for no reason.

Good point. Can admin help with that please, I don't have that option in the edit page.

Although South of the country most likely, going by where the usual suspects live. But will travel to a more central location of course.

It might be an idea to have a central location and book a cheap hotel and a local restaurant for those interested.
I don't do camping, playing with cars or foreign food, a steak sounds great. I enjoy the forum and a social gathering  for members  would be good to put names to faces and probably dispel preconceived ideas from internet comments or not as the case me be. ;D
Overnight stop will mean we can all enjoy a drink, enjoy a full-time English breakfast before driving  home.

Was thinking the same...

Can do 28/12, 29/12, 30/12, 2/1 onwards as currently only booking for next year is late on New Years Day :y

I do fancy a steak house do though :)

I do like a steak, the only foreign food I eat is a kebab when I'm pissed (so curry is definitely off my menu).

Any idea on location?

Depends who's interested, see where is central after after a couple of days I guess?

So far, somewhere north east Hampshire/your way/ish...? Although if possible, nearer Al and Nick as they always have to travel.

But let's see who's interested first, I fink? :)

Poll changed to allow 5 votes, and vote edits.

Not sure when/who visiting after xmas (big family), so no idea on dates.  Foodwise, as long as it didn't used to live in water, I'm in :y

Right, given the 28th looks most popular...

Might I propose a table at a Steak house in Horsham, (West Sussex,  not Norwich).  Say 7.30?

Fresh thread to be started in Meetings... If you can make it, add your name. Looking to get it booked on Sunday evening... :y
