anyone know if there are going to be any compatibilty issues surrounding ecu's or otherwise.
the conversion was done in 2011 and mechanically it's had a lot of money thrown at it although cosmetically it's a bit of a shed.
and another bonus was finding a receipt for £248.98 for a pair of self levellers from Oct.2012

Is the intention to reduce the donor car to parts, or will you be selling the vehicle complete, minus LPG? Ta :)
-
Thats a donor car :o
-
hope to just remove the lpg system and fix a mid range hesitation that it has, tidy the interior and sell on.

If its Black, looks Black, Think I'd be keeping as is, put a Manual Box in there and use it as a LPG runner.
-
It is metallic black but its done 200k and i prefer my original 84k elite.I have got a manual box though which if i can fix the running issue i will probably fit.

Lpg will need set up once fitted to your car. It should run the same as you have the same engine, I guess, but it's wise to set it up and check all is well. Not lean, etc. Pluss there's no guarantees it was running correctly on gas before.
So does it come with a diags lead to connect the Ecu to a lap top? You'll need this to set it up correctly. Brc are a bit tight with "non trade" people fiddling with "their" ecu's so set up might be tricky, as leads are hard to come by for these, last I heard. In fact, before starting, it might be wise to see if you can get the brc software downloaded to your lap top first. It might not be publicly available.
Although ypu could take it to a brc specialist, and pay them to do it, but there is a cost to that.
Otherwise, should be fine. There's a couple of bfc ssystems on members cars here. They work ok afaik.
Does the car in the pic loose coolant, btw? There's coolant residue on that vapourisor and associated pipe work in the pic. See that brown/pink stuff? Might have a leak. Or it had a leak in the past, perhaps...?
If you rebuild it on the other car, try not to use jubilees, they often leak. Gm spring clips, although a pita, are much better at holding even pressure around rubber pipes. You'll get less leak issues with those, especially in the early days after fitting when stuff settles down.

Cheers for the info Chris.there is a brc agent about 20 miles away in chester so i might take it there first with it still fitted to the black car and get it checked out.not sure about a coolant leak as i have only driven it from birmingham and it's been parked up since although the gas was switched off all the way so i think the hesitation is HT related.
Do i need to worry about gas escapes when removing the tank or is it one way valve protected.

Got round to having a look for the lpg ecu and found it lurking under the scuttle panel down by the pollen filter.
