Thick frost still here on the car and ground .
Not the warmest of houses being solid 9 inch no cavity  :( As the winters get colder im more inclined to get the open fire going thats been boarded up , at least the was some decent heat thrown out

Well, yeah, there is a bit of frost (cars cleared as all started up earlier). Not been below -1C since 10am today though, and with the sun, feels warmer.

Cold House?

You should try Scotland! Last time I was this cold was the first 17 years of my life in Yorkshire.

Today it was cold enough to freeze the Ghillies off a Trossach

Roll on Hogmanay

About twenty years ago we stayed in a stone cottage in deepest Wales.

No  heating whatsoever and only one room (with a blazing open fire) was warm.

My toothbrush would freeze to the sink and I would have to 'chisel it off' with a screwdriver before boiling the kettle to defrost the bristles.
