Title: Mondeo
Post by: BazaJT on 29 December 2014, 21:40:45
I've had a brief chance today to compare an "old"14 plate Mondeo with a "new" 64 plate one. Both cars were estates and both were in Titanium X spec.Fords have really gone to town on the new model.A brief glance inside showed the dash to have had a make over.On the outside the new cars headlights are much slimmer than the old cars and the new one seems to be slightly taller.Every body panel has been changed with the possible exception of the roof and tailgate-although the latter may also be different as the plastic piece between the tail lights is slightly restyled at the outer ends. They've even moved the filler cap from the offside rear quarter to the nearside! Not a bad looking machine though.Whether ride/handling has changed in any way I don't know.

Door cards are too high for me. Impossible to rest your arm out the window.

240PS...... and next to bugger all torque.

So being pedantic 240 X 0.986 = 236.64 bhp  ::). Quite decent to drive in real life as well. Certainly a lot zippier than the barges we drive. Not sure what the actual torque values are.

No doubt it'll be a real flyer if you opt for the 1.0litre version!!

That's just ridicularse. Probably get about 120 bhp from a 1 litre engine nowadays, but still....

That little 1.0l turbo is quite keen in a focus, but probably asking a bit much in a Mundano.  TBH, it feels stressed in a focus, and is more suited to town use than motorway cruise.
