Title: Anyone got a halogen oven?
Post by: Taxi_Driver on 01 January 2015, 18:10:18
Do the claims they make about add up?

That is, save leccy because of no warm up time and faster cooking?

A decent one seems to be about £50....this one has good reviews....

I've got one in the holiday apartment.

They do exactly what they say, but everything comes out dryer than a conventional oven.  Probably due to the much quicker cooking times.  It takes a while to get used to roasting with a fair amount of liquid.

Mrs Seth's got one Dave >:( >:( >:(

You can have the contraption for sod all (once I make it disappear from her vast collection of culinary gadgets and gismos). Hate it with a vengeance meself, and refuse to eat anything cooked by it >:( >:( >:(
Grub's best traditionally cooked in a proper oven IMO :y

Don't know about any potential savings though :-\

Yup, and damn  good we find it, does really crispy pizza,s! seriously though they are very good had ours about 4 years and it is so easy to use, and it is a lot cheaper to run than a conventional oven hence the savings,
but do get the deeper bowl, or you will regret getting the shorter one within weeks !
