Title: Niggles
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 03 January 2015, 12:31:22
I've got a few post head gasket change niggles.  :(

1) It dosn't start first time.  It starts second time, is lumpy for a couple of seconds, fires and then is fine. When warm it starts first time OK.  I'm wondering if the HT leads didn't like being moved about straightened out etc  :-\

2) LPG is taking longer to kick in and occasionally switches back to petrol when stopping at a junction/traffic lights etc.  Maybe related to above?

3) There's a slight squeak coming from the cambelt area when it's cold, the noise disappears when the engine has warmed up.  I refitted the same belt kit as it was less than a year old and was on about 15,000 miles.  Didn't James and/or Webby have a similar issue?  :-\

4) I think I have a slight coolant leak. Sigh... Mind you, given that I was putting more water in than fuel before, it's a massive improvement!!  :D

I've only done about 300 miles locally so far, so it needs a good run which it will get next week.  Any thoughts appreciated as always.  TIA!!  :y

Leak needs identifying as that could well be causing the lpg delay :-\

Hmmm that crossed my mind, but given that I was putting in a couple of litres daily before the HG change......  :-\

Depends where in the system the leak is as to what effects it might have :-\
