That's a grey import.  ;) 1996 first registered in 2005.

Nothing wrong with that of course, but some insurance companies arn't keen.  :-\

I run a 1995 pajero lwb 2.8 atm and have had 9 since 2005 (buy them cheap in summer use them for 6 months sell them end of winter for a nice profit). Never lost on one yet and insurance has never been a problem as there are more pajeros now on the road than shoguns. On the plus side this one being imported in 2005 it should be pretty mint underneath. If you could get it for around £1000-£1200 it'll still be worth that in 5 years easy!

No mate theres no special parts for these so most motor factors can get bits for them. All serviceable bits are same as uk models.

There quite reliable but are known for head gaskets so give it a good test drive and as long as temp stays half way and theres no pressure when you take the rad cap off should be fine. Check the radiators in good nic to. Also check overdrive is working (Small button r/h side of gearstick). Also this model has a cambelt so be nice if thats been done.  Apart from them not much really goes wrong. Talking about parts i change front/rear pads on mine last month £22 delivered from euro car parts.

Ok thanks again and all noted . Looking at this one it looks clean and looked after so hopefully all the servicing has been done recently . No big deal if its not though and will be a bargaining point .

IIRC folklore says it wasn't called the Pajero over here because Pajero means someone who diddles with themselves in Spanish.. ;D

Used to have the Pajero/Shogun 2.8TDs in Cyprus as hire cars (not really needed in the past few years, as most roads are now tarmac-ish).

I certainly wouldn't buy one, an unrefined chassis with an even less refined lump under the bonnet.
