Hi
I have been offered a 2.3td carlton gls on a K plate saloon model.2 owners current one old guy old school type ,the check the oil every journey keeps it clean n maintained etc.
His fear it will get modified or scrapped .His son will throw in a gsi kit £350 is asking price
Has any one any views on them that has owned one im considering buying it and selling the omega as it need stuff doing.
Any help info on the 2.3td engine or the carlton would helpi.eas a daily driver pro/con power etc not comapring it to a 3.0 omega elite i know its not a v6

They wasnt a bad car,i used to drive a taxi 2.3td carlton,economical,and can still get parts for it as it was used in the frontera aswell.

yeah rember the frontera used them but im sure folk complained they gutless in fronteras.how are the power wise

will post picture up tonight as need to popout n time upload etc . Thinkit has months MOT but it is spotless looking wee rust spots on bottom of door surface rust, might ask if he want my omega 3.0 for it
Yeah i decided dont want it let know,going to look at a astra gte convertible next week

Had 3 of them but petrol ones , they are very comfy cars . Check the rear arches for rust an noisy rear wheel bearings .

i have only ever driven a 2.0 petrol but i was 19 and it was 1994 and i rember it was a good car.

2.3 is the old opel engine, its long lasting tough as old boots and dead easy to uprate via the pump, later ones were turbo intercooled is this one?

Didnt do a deal rather have a v6 or i could pick a gsi 3000 project up
