Title: We've had a couple of inches of snow.
Post by: The Sheriff on 14 January 2015, 13:03:29
Cue the news reports with pictures of cars in people's gardens, up telegraph poles or living with sheep in a field.
Are modern day cars really so bad or have people forgotton how to drive?

Nobody to take the bait there any more. ;D

But yes, there are some pretty "special" drivers on the road these days. Like yesterday when there was some freak weather (it rained), and the Police here were attending to a Ka where the seat-steering wheel interface had clearly not appreciated the impact of rain on the tyre-road interface, and done it straight into a lamp post too.

Currently in the Oxymoron, and praying for snow... if only to get some feedback from the rear wheels...

It has a pair of Autonogrips finest on the rear, and without a TC light, I have absolutely no idea if the rear tyres slip or not when trying... obviously there's enough power to actually move the car once the slushbox has finished consuming more than its share, but once you get over 3k rpm, you couldn't hear the tyres even if they were shrieking :D

Note to self must fix the gearbox exhaust... ::)

Quite happy with this mild weather, esp here near the Alps.  I am still cycling to/from work and although I am prepared for the snow I have only had one day with sub-zero temps :y

I've got some high-end Khumo's on the front of the Saab and they have somewhat struggled with the frosts recently.... but only under relatively hard acceleration.  :-X
