To collectively answer the PM's and phonecalls as to why I reneaged from attending the meet this weekend, I feel an explanation is finally in order and may explain in some way why my forum attention has been less than normal of late. And my patience! ;D
There have been quite a few personal things ongoing in our family affairs recently, the most important of which are that I am being compulsarily retired from the plod as of next month (their idea, not mine, I hasten to add....) but, more importantly, my wife has discovered a recurrence of the cancer we successfully fought 3 years or so ago.
She restarted chemo the other week and, to those who know the order of these things, she is at her most susceptible to infection over this weekend, hence our reluctant non attendance.
Most certainly not looking for pages of sympathy or similar, merely stating facts. We are all upbeat and confident that we will again overcome adversity. Onwards and upwards and all that! :y
Lets all take a bit of care on the way that we look at the bigger picture, particularly through this restricted medium of OOF, and collectively look after each other. That maxim certainly works for us.....
Take care out there. Small things can quickly become important..... :D :y

Supportive prayers and healing thoughts for you and your-dearest, H21 ;)

Whilst we all missed you over the weekend Broocie understandably family must always come first.
Please convey our best wishes to your good lady and we'll hope to see you in the near future.

Best of luck with the retirement and for the missus with the chemo. Looking on the upside is always best ( though sometimes difficult) and can be the best medicine too.
-
Best wishes to Mrs Hotel21
At least if you're retired you'll be able to spend time at home with her.
-
Best wishes Brucie - what are you going to do now?
-
Good folk don't deserve bad knocks. As said on phone lastnight thoughts are with you both.

Spend the inheritance wisely!! ;D
Amongst other things, am a qualified university accredited Crash Investigator, class one driver, class one biker, CBT instructor, bikesafe instructor, VIP driver, etc etc etc..... I wont be stuck.... :y
But most importantly, we will be clogging up the roads near you with a tin tent hanging off the arse of an Omega!!

Broocie. In the book of life, a new chapter is always an exciting and often a challenging prospect.
I hope each turn of the page brings you better news than you've had lately. Enjoy it and pray for a happy ending.
Martin
PS. Sorry for the cheesy albeit most sincere analogy.

Thanks all. As said, not looking for pages of support but, honestly, they are appreciated. We have sufficient commitment between us to again overcome adversity so no great concern there. We beat it once and we will again. ;)
