As above guys, will play eventually but when its cold I just get ''ERROR CD''.
Do i need to get some CD player cleaner stuff. Or a replacement unit? i have the prongs to remove stereo if required :)
-
Sounds like condensation inside the unit Webby, or on the surface of the disc or both :D.
Run the A/C until the car warms up (in the cabin) :y
-
Thanks Phil,
Yeah done that mate and its made no difference.
ill jam a cleaner in there and see what happens.
How much do cd units go for on 'ere if i end up needing one?

Thanks Mr Gav,
Will let you know if i need one. :y
-
No Problem :y
-
Are you playing pre-recorded discs? as copy ones sometimes cause problems :-\
-
Yeah, proper bought CDs. No copies :y
-
Been getting it a bit lately myself, due to the condensation, on original, non-copied discs. Sorry that doesn't exactly help you, but it is a known common fault.
-
Cheers DBG.
I always wipe the CD before trying to pop it in. So i cant really say its condensation on the disc.
Who knows. if cleaning dont work ill just pop a new one in.
Will i need to know new radio codes or will it just plug n play? :-\

Don't forget condensation on the lens / overall internally :y Appreciate what you mean, not vast pennies for a replacement, on the other hand you don't want to go throwing a perfectly good stereo out.
All I can suggest is try having the aircon on for a long run, with lots of heat - I find having a rear window ajar helps with internal moisture (no giggling at the back, please ::)) and after maybe half an hour/an hour, then turn the CD on - if still not playing ball then I'd say it's looking less cold-related and more age-related.

Or just turn the Radio On full Blast, for about a week, that should warm the HU up a bit.
