Title: £15,000 - Granada Into a Supercar
Post by: Mr.OmegaMan on 22 January 2015, 21:48:45
Amateur mechanic spends £15,000 and five years transforming 1990 Ford Granada into exact replica of £1million Zonda supercar (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2921570/Amateur-mechanic-spends-15-000-five-years-transforming-1990-Ford-Granada-exact-replica-1million-Zonda-supercar.html)

I can certainly think of better ways i'd spend my hard earned brass :o :o :o

Far play on taking up such a challenge... Whether it was foolish or brave i'll leave that up to yous  ;D

Not sure healthy is the right word either :-\

That said I really couldn't tell the difference...

Not sure that driving it on the road is exactly sensible if it isn't UK road legal either :-X especially if you're being filmed when you do it... ::)

It didn't look too bad until the interior shots. That was when I nearly fell out of my chair in a combined laughing/coughing fit.

When you say 'interior' do you mean the door shuts or the passenger side of the dash :-\

Go on just about any kit car forum or magazine and you'll see many, many better examples, all built in peoples garages at home..

Hard to see much Granada left; possibly the front uprights and some switchgear. After all, how many spaceframed, mid-engined V8 Granadas are there?

During the project he sliced the top off his index finger in the turbo with the digit then shooting out of the exhaust pipe.
He had it shipped to Bahrain - where he worked for a while........

Still don't understand why he had the top of his finger shipped to Bahrain.  :-\ ::) ::)

Sorry Trevor, whilst I agree with your comment (highlighted), must disagree re this car.  Ignoring the obvious design differences, the quality of both the paint and the fibreglassing is poor at best, and as for the interior, well he didn't make much of an effort did he? ;)  Mechanically looks fair though.
