How many machines do they hook you up to after a by-pass operation? :o :o

This is the kit my Dad is currently hooked up to after a triple heart by-pass yesterday morning. All is well & he was sat in the chair next to his bed watching telly! Not bad for 77 :y :y :y

Firstly, glad all is ok with our Dad.............. :y
Looks about right to me, thinking back 7 months when swmbo was in intensive care after her open heart operation, and an additional emergency re-opening she was full of pipes and wires. I remember her half coming round and trying to pull off her oxygen mask and getting quite stroppy with me and the nurse who were trying to discourage this..............and the machines kept beeping and needing re-setting; all a memory I would like to forget........ :'( :'(

Hope your dad makes a full recovery Andy.
All that kit goes to show just how expensive it is to run the NHS. I'd love to know what the total of all that lot is, then add the cost of the technicians that keep it running. That's before we even consider the cost of nurses/doctors/surgeon/porters/cooks/ cleaners, all of whom will have contributed to your dads care, then the drugs on top of that.
Sheesh, I've made my head spin :o

good to hear ya dad is ok.....do they have the machine that goes biiiinnnngggg......... :y ;D :D

Hope he's OK mate and makes a full recovery.... he will be feeling cold though for the next few months, its down to the ice they use to pack the cavity when theyre operating.... the surgeons that can do this are simply amazing...
As to the amount of machines, it looks about right for how many there are, my Dad was hooked up to about that many when he had his quadruple bypass many years ago...

He seems to be doing very well. He was out of the intensive care yesterday and back in an ordinary ward :y He was still a bit on cloud cuckoo last night though ..... still the after effects of the anaesthetic and being tired
