Title: MK6 (05) Ford Fiesta 1.4
Post by: SMD on 23 January 2015, 10:28:27
Anyone know if it has a DMF fitted on the petrol models? Friend has one and someone told him his "DMF is on the way out". Symptoms are grinding in second and third though when I test drove it I did not notice it.

DMF or not, that's one of the classic common failures on a Fiesta.....they are known for 'gearbox issues', it might well be worth changing the oil first as this often helps but the route cause will be the box has wear and issues.

When I looked up common faults for this model it looked like like the diesel models has the issues. Good call on the TF. Hopefully there will be a sump plug

I don't recall there being one but there is a plug which is associated with the selector mechanism you can remove to get most of it out.
