...assumed it was the microswitch that I replaced 10 months ago, and I am about to get it under cover to replace the switch again. However.....today it would not even unlock with the key, even using extreme force and trying to lift the unlocking plunger, although the key does turn about 75° clockwise with a distinct metallic click towards the end of it's travel. The plunger however does not move, yet the door now opens normally using the inside handle, with the plunger still down. I dare not try locking it again until fixed, and can only assume something is disconnected in the linkage, but am still at a loss as to why the plunger remains locked down. :-\ :-\ :-\

Sounds like it jammed in the deadlocked position, which can be caused by a failed microswitch Need to get the lock mechanism out and have a look what's happened, I think.

Yep, top of my to do list, I just can't figure the lock plunger fixed in the down position and the door unlocked. Time will tell, I had hoped to do it this weekend, but am having to remove coving and skirting to facilitate decoration. :y

However I see that what I have described is to be expected. Phew, I feel better now. :y

I've replaced the m/s in an old door actuator with a new one from Farnell, and replaced the duff actuator with the refurbished one. The lock all works fine now, but it's annoying as I only fitted the duff (RS components) m/s a year ago. :-X
