Seconded. Go for the service kit, available from the ABS / via 'Keith B' on here, which gets you all filters and the plugs at £29/30 - which is nearly the cost of the plugs alone without TC discount  :y

Whenever I mention the words TC or tradecard to my Vauxhall dealer he simply shrugs his shoulders and says...."never heard of it, mate".... :( :(

I know only a certain number of dealers do it, but annoying he hasn't heard of it, even. Or maybe he 'hasn't' heard of it.  :(

I know it's not exactly next door, but my local, Wilson and Co, up in N E Lincs do it for sure. As for any nearer to you couldn't say, sorry.

That's where haggling comes into play... Don't ask and all that :y

Always amazes me when you're told "that's the price", and suddenly, miraculously, when you say "well it's this price here etc.." then they can just knock off sometimes huge chunks. I think the best one I remember was an oil filter years ago, which the local indy quoted the old man something like £22. He said "Eh? Nahhhh! Really?" "Oh, all right, erm" came the reply "£7, then sir" Without any more haggle than that, how did they do that??

 :o

To be fair I'm not technically in Trade Club, it's the old man's TC card not mine, but been going in there since before I could drive and they've never asked for it :y I think in real terms even if the dealer sin't in the trade club, doesn't know or care about it, they can still give you trade prices. As I say, can.

'Can' isn't the same as 'will', sadly  ::)

My local dealer has 3 fellas who work in the parts department, 2 who will give me TC prices and the other dosn't.  So if I go in the money stays in my pocket if it's the stingey guy!  ;D

Or message Keith B on here - like I say normal Vx price will bring 6 plugs in at something like £24 or thereabouts, or, for £29 you can have 6 x plugs, oil filter (VOF93), pollen filter and air filter. All Genuine GM. Because the Autobahnstormers bough a job lot of these 'service kits' the club was able to negotiate an even-cheaper-than-Trade-Club price, the club then passing on the saving to ABS club members, non profit basis. Assuming your 2.6 takes the later paper cartridge filter the price is only increased to £30 vs £29 for the kit with the old VOF93.

 :)

The advantage of TC is they will deliver (ok, maybe not for just a sump washer). Plus its mostly very good quality at ECP tat prices. No brainer really.

They will haggle. A couple of years ago I paid £14 for 5 litres of GM  5 year antifreeze.

The last  time I asked they wanted £20. :(

Never even considered this, actually, I've always gone in tot he Dealer straight after work (on the other side of town, so not always convenient) and they've never offered postage. Thanks for the heads up, will ask about this next job lot of parts I need.  :y
