Post by: biggriffin on 31 January 2015, 20:37:57
Right trying to find a pair of rear springs for mv6 estate, non sl..
Came across this GM number 90542361, says lowered sport chassis. Good so far,but is also the same number for sl spring lowered sport chassis???
 Iam confused.
Might have to try ecp,but cant find right springs

Been on ecp website, used there vehicle finder, and it list's a spring, then it gets better as that part number is also the same part number for a rear spring for my ex-plod with s/l.

So according to ecp an mv6 estate with lsc,has the same springs as a 3.0 special estate with s/l :-[

Hi Biggriff
I  have some pages printed off from an OOF thread about this from April 2011 which includes spring ID.
Jimbob posted the parts list up. it was 08 april 2011 at 15.46 if that helps you find it.

Guessing you may have already seen that list  though.

I seem to remember from somewhere that GM  LSC springs are no longer available  :-\ :-\

Gixer boy would be the man to tell you your best option  but  . . . of course he's not here anymore :'( :'(

HTH  :y

I can see I will be going std omega ride height at this rate, don't want to go with a lower set as available from taxi all.

Aftermarket are available  . . KYB  etc.   but not sure on the best recommended make to check out.

Taxi Al or Rob G may well know which make to pursue :-\ :-\   or are you wanting to fit GM  only ?

I had a similar problem with mine.
In the end, I fitted a pair of heavy duty standard height springs to the back end of mine.
The back end sits pretty much perfect with a full donut lpg tank and some petrol.

I'll have a dig around and get you the details if you need them ?

On my printout for that part No.  it says: Estate excluding  auto self levelling, to '97   indent L J   90487521

Suggest one of these two for yours :

Estate with LSC with removable towing attachment, from '00 onwards -   ident LR 90542361
Estate with LSC excluding removeable towing attachment from '00 onwards -  ident LX 9193198

Strange though that the 90542361  part is also listed for estate WITH self levelling from '98 :-\ :-\

Bear in mind my printout from that part of  the EPC was 4 years ago though :-\

No mention of LSC for those  . . . but of course there was no LSC in existance   for the year they are up to  :-\

It all gets a bit confusing. they will certainly fit  . .  but what will the resulting ride height be on a FL MV6 ? :-\ :-\

It maybe that those springs  with the MV6 shocks will be correct , but as i read it from the EPC list 90487521 springs are "standard"  (GLS CD  CDX  etc. ) & therefore won't be as firm as the correct LSC ones  :-\

Is there any Ident mark on your exisiting springs ?  (usually 2 letters in white paint on the coil somewhere) I would presume LX or LR  for yours  :-\

To make thing worse KYB   don't list a different spring for FL MV6   saloon or estate that I can see  ::) ::)

How much are they then ?      I think I would give  Andy C a pm first & see what he may  suggest ;) ;)

With the cost of GM springs   . . . you really need to know they are gonna be OK  :-\ :-\
