Some damage has occured to my Elite, looks like something has come off a passing vechicle and hit the bonnet. Allthough it is minor and I dont think anyone would notice it, I still know it's there.
Will all the Omeg's gatting stripped, I was wondering, if the rear seat lower section was taken out of the car, would a bonnet fit in the back but at an angle from the back of the seat slider towards the rear windscreen brake ligkt.
I may never need to, but just a thought if I do. As I would still keep my old bonnet.
Just a thought.
TIA :y

if I understand correct you want to carry the bonnet with miggy..
Never tried something like that but may be will fit horizontally from the back of the car to the rear seat area.. (worth trying..) :-/

Silly answer
Get a matress and a rope and strap it to the roof :)

and consider the effect of wind ..personally never would try
something like that.. ::)

I did say "Silly answer".
But for a realtively short distance, if you keep the speed down, and ensure that the thing is properly secured, it wouldn't be dangerous. If you can borrow a roof rack, that would be better than a mattress, but whatever you try, a bonnet shaped "wing" on top of your car means you have to go slowly.

When my 2.0 was broken into, the scroat bryied the drives, door and snapped the frame.
I found a white 1 in the breakers so i thought no problem, Jobs a good un.
Square peg round hole come to mind, I did fit but was VERY tight
I had to stand it at an angle behind the front seats .

Cheers all.

sorry, but I dont see any way to properly secure a bonnet with a simple rope unless its in a special designed box for carriage..
and try to hold a big towel in a windy place ..
ps : had an accident with the old cars bonnet when its lock failed..
speed was nearly 40 km/hr.. and the bonnet turned over and break
the windscreen and the ceiling.. ;D was a very good lesson
about "wings" ;D

I sold a fantastic Daimler Sovereign to a guy, showed him round it, then he enquired about oil and water wtc.
Lifted the bonnet to which he replied that he had never seen one open that way. Anyway, showed him what he needed to know and made a point of showing him how to put the bonnet down and then firmly secure it.
Few weeks later, he had been driving down the road and the bonnet flew up. not from wind getting under it, but from the aeroplane wing effect (Lift) The plonker hadnt closed it down properly So with that in mind, I certainly wouldnt fancy the thought of a bonnet on the top the car.

I composed a lengthy reply explaining how to do it sensibly, but, honestly, I can't be bothered.
You have to use a bit of common sense. :(
