Title: Nokia Lumia does not like toilet water
Post by: pscocoa on 07 February 2015, 17:05:07
Managed to drop it down toilet - first time I have had to claim off EE insurance policy. New one arrives tomorrow. My daughter did same to her Galaxy a while ago and it survived because you could take battery out and dry in rice etc. No can do with Lumia.

Obvious lesson of the day is to buy hardware that can potentially be easily fixed when we do make mistakes  ;)

My old Nokia 6310i (I think it were) was a damn sight tougher than this Lumia...

I was able to connect it to pc but as it happens everything is backed up to cloud/onedrive anyway. So it was drying out after having been left overnight therefore it may have got there eventually. Anyhow new phone has arrived so back to normal. And just for the record I was getting something from the side of the toilet and it slipped out of my inside jacket pocket - so I was not pissing and talking at same time :)

Probably because it didn't have to do anywhere near what a modern day smartphone (essentially a PC) has to do.
Couple it with hardware that is naturally tough by default instead of being wafer thin and demanding reams of power, and they were a bloody good phone.
