Bite their arms off... £3000 buys an awful lot of petrol, even for a V8 Rangie ;D

Ah well, here goes............Dropped at the test centre  ???

& I took it for a non-binding valuation at our local Westealanycar.com site in Olham, said if it had MOT that's what they'd give.  :D

"Oh, sir, well, I can see that it's the 4 wheeled model, and our quote was for the 6 wheeler with optional vertical take-off and landing system.. Tell you what, I'll give you a grand for it."

Now its passed its test what do I do  ??? ??? ??? Keep it (it's only done 52k & had a new VP pump recently) OR do I give in to  my heart and get a big V8 Range Rover???

Head says (or was it SWMBO  ;D) if I do change cars I should get sommat economical as I do about 1300 miles a month & then play with the Disco I already got (seen a lovely 300bhp V8 engine that would fit nicely into the ol' Disco).

But as TheBoy commonly states - there are so many $h1tboxes about, I really don't know what to get if I go for economy. Mundano = £30 tax, 60mpg's, Insignia virtually the same, new Skoda Superb etc......

Don't want sommat small (being 6'5" & 17 odd stone) but there is nothing that floats me boat.  :-[ :-\

There is nothing that 'special' out there Jason, not unless you have shed loads of cash. Standard cars are built for economy and to please the tree huggers with low emissions. I like the mondeo but an exciting ride it ain't.

Nearly bought one before Christmas  ;) but it had an unresolved gremlin... that's to say I didn't trust the dealers claim to have resolved it ::)

As for the one you linked to, I flew to Edinburgh with a view to buy it at auction, but it's a rather mess in the flesh, and I wouldn't trust that dealer either :-X

Like the Volvo, 'One owner' though & no mileage stated. I think some of my mates may have driven that in the past  ::)

Bit pricey though  :-\

It's an ex Lothian car iirc, about 150k, been smacked around a bit too :-\

Jag looks nice, and if it ever needs a suspension rebuild, Guffer is your man :y

That said, if you're to spend £12k on a car, might as well do it right...

Might raise an eyebrow or two in the work carpark though ;D

Never really been into Mercs or BMW's really. Just been either big Jags or even bigger L/Rover - R/Rovers  :o :o

Might just go test drive a Mundano & an Insignia see what they can do & give the salesman a fright in the process  :D ;D :D ;D My thinking being if I get sommat 'newish' if it goes wrong a warranty will cover it & I'll have more time to play with the V8 Disco.
