Hi everyone,i think i have a heater matrix problem.Drove to Birmingham last night, set the two switches to the right full red.And the blower to 2 lovely hot air. After two hours it started to get a bit cold, put my hand over the vent.Only Luke warm, and when we stopped at the service at idle it was cold.No coolant loss engine temp 92,so suggest the matrix is oppsed.(Great title for a film) ;D ;D.Any advice welcome Dean. :y

Have a rummage through the guides... Heater only working one side... Applies equally to both sides, but quite a coincidence if both at same time...
Other thing is to check hbv function. Applying or removing vacuum should make a difference in the cabin. Climate panel reset might also be in order. :y

BTW had my coolant replaced recently, could this be related. :y

After a coolant change there coud be an airlock somewhere.

From cold...
Coolant cap off.
Top up coolant.
Ignition on.
Heater controls both to Hot.
Engine on.
Allow to idle until fan kicks in/10 mins.
Top up as required.
Refit cap.
Allow to cool overnight.
Restart and hold onto the top hose.
If this gradually warms up Stat is getting lazy, if it suddenly gets hot after five mins or so, the stat fine...
Not much else to go wrong without ecc :y

Hmmm... early heater controls used vacuum to move the control flaps, etc. Entirely possible that the diaphragms may have deteriorated with age.
Do you get any funny noises from behind the dash when the engine would be giving lots of vacuum, like when decelerating?

Hi mate no noises, but funny you should mention vacuum to move the control flaps. As when i turn the knobs to face feet etc the air only comes out of the, side and window vents. ??? :-\.Dean :y
