Title: f*ck*ng pr*cks
Post by: kris9128 on 30 June 2008, 18:36:19
went to trade my elite in for another car the other day. got a good price off dealer, went to pick it up at tea time, changed all insurance over, etc etc. got to garage and guy says he wont touch my car with 10' barge pole. apparently he thinks my car done 111k miles and is gonna report it as a ringer. never gave me chance to explain/discuss the matter. turns out some body made a slight typing error

Push the matter with him - show the receipt - if he carries on take the car back and get your money back as he sounds like a complete tosser!

Done the right thing then, if he does that you don't want to go back with a problem.

I'd put it around your friends too!

Try PXing at Roger Budden then ;D

It's obvious it's a typo.

Challenge him, he enetered into a legal agreement with you, and should have done his homework first, not afterwards.

Also phone the AA and suss out the source of thier info.

Check the Vosa link from annother part of the forum.  Reg detail and some paperwork ref number from log book or MOT and see if you can track the error

Ring Vosa direct matey and get advice, or have a chat with your Local MOT Station.

the little pr*ck doesnt bother me in the slightest. what happens if he does report it as a ringer? what happens to my car. even tho i can prove the mileage is correct?

Nothing I would imaging mate. Im sure that it will all be verified as a typo. You should then complain to who entered it in the first place a its caused so much inconvenience.

He can't just press a magic button that makes it a ringer overnight. They will have to investigate it (if he has even reported it) which means they will have to contact you.

Explain your story and provide the necessary evidence - job done.

In the meantime, start looking for another car elsewhere!!  :y

here's what will most likely happen.......
he has flagged it as a risk, Vosa may want to se the car and any documentation you have to support your mileage, if it is found that you are right, which you will be then that will be it.
I woud speak to the AA and also HPI (equifax) and advise them that there is incorrect info on their database and that you, as the legal owner of the car would like it changed ASAP.

Again they will want proof, they will not accept photocopies so my advise is to send the details RECORDED delivery, that way you have a log of the delivery.

It will all get sorted, what you then do is get another HPI report, take it to the garage and tell him to shove his customer service where the sun don't shine
