Title: My computer doesn't like Pay Pal !!
Post by: Big_Roger on 02 July 2008, 20:34:47
Hi,
I don't have any problem paying for items on line to websites with their own payment methods, unless that is, they us Pay Pal.

Anything involving Pay Pal, including of course ebay is as follows:
Click "Proceed to Pay Pal"  Bottom of screen shows "Finding website"  "Connecting to website"  "Opening page"
Blue indicator moves to almost 100% then computer just sits there. Mouse arrow changes to hourglass, only action that will respond (sometimes doesn't) is "Back"  Then comes up "Page has expired"

I can get Pay Pal site through Google, but when I try to register, or even use their "Contact us" then as above same happens.

Any one know what problem is ??

Have you tried using Firefox instead of using Internet Explorer.

A possibility might be that your anti-virus/firewall software has 'overly-zealous' filters that might be erroneously blocking the Paypal cookies. ;)
If so then viewing/tweaking the setting for 'allowing cookies' and access to Paypal within your A/V/Firewall might cure the prob.

Or simply that there are nasties already on PC trying to intercept Paypal at a name resolution level.

And run a spyware programme like this

if you haven't already.
