Finished the installation of my gas kit tonight. Filled tank to 10% ish and did the leak tests. Missing the programming cable though so can't do much more :-[ although it will idle really smooth on gas :y
Jeremy tells me the cable will be here by Friday so should be all systems go then.

Sounds good, if I did a lot of mileage I would jump at fitting a gas kit.

Around £700 DIY, anything between £1000-2000 if installed professionally.

Depends who does it!
At least if you do it you can do it how you want to

Loads of things to think about. Depends on how many miles you drive - higher the mileage, the quicker you'll pay it off. Usually a year to two years for the average driver.
I have a tendency to drive a bit harder using lpg for the simple fact that it is so much cheaper than petrol to buy, so if you really want to make a saving you have to keep the same driving style you're accustomed to.
Make sure your car is in tip-top condition before you convert or you'll undoubtedly run into problems. Ignition system is very important, plugs and leads have to be in good condition.
Finally are you going to keep the car for any length of time - fairly obvious but if you don't plan on keeping it for a good few years it won't really be worth it.

On my 3.2 conversion .. not DIY I paid someone else to do it ...... I'm now saving 10.64 pence /mile
calculated petrol costs at 118.9/litre = 26.37 pence/mile
actual LPG costs = 15.73 pence/mile (over 1907 miles)
This includes both solo and towing - I towed a 1600kg 'van to the lakes & back at the weekend, filled with LPG before we left, then twice on the journey and very nearly at home, so the figures are pretty accurate
540 miles - 191.9 ltrs LPG - cost £104.21 ( 2 cheap Morrisons fillups, 1 countrywide)
petrol estimates 540 miles towing at 18mpg = 29.83 galls @ 118.9 /ltr = £161.04
which checks the original figures .. saving 10p ish/mile .. on a 540 mile trip I saved £57
Yup .. I know .. running spreadsheet with all this stuff is sad ... but it keeps me off the streets ;D ;D ;D
