Title: RS2000 4x4, I'm gutted
Post by: omegod on 02 March 2015, 23:05:04
Gutted, I used to work with a guy who had a mint early RS2000 Escort 4x4 which I wanted really badly, he's just got in touch to say he's decided to sell through lack of time to use it and offered me it for a ridiculously low number. I'm getting married this year and all funds are tied up   :'( :'( There can't be more than 20 of this model left, maybe less

Awesome car in its day.

My bro helped redesign it (as ze Germans forgot that they had to be available in road legal form to enter competition)

The Police around here had a couple of these... marked and unmarked.... I got stopped by the unmarked when I had my Mini Turbo, he tried to catch me but couldn't LOL Only time he caught up with me was when I stopped for some petrol...

That was a looooooong time ago...

Just look at it as an opportunity to learn to weld avoided.

If you'd said RS200 I'd have understood your disappointment..

But you're just talking about an Escort, so, no need to throw away your marriage ;)

If it was a 200 I would have it and never see her again  ;D ,just an escort but one I lusted after in my teens and this particular one must be one of very few early model 4x4 left. They will come of age at some point and climb in value as did the Mk2 and Mk3 is now climbing fast, check out  mint early 80's XR3i prices :o

corrected that for you! At least it isn't a Cosworth, as you'd add learning to rebuild engines to that.
