Put the Omega in reverse with the gear selector light illuminated.......but no drive. :-\ Like being in neutral.
Fine in drive.
On the second attempt at reverse it worked fine. Strange.

Codes?
Fluid level?
Serviced atf ?

I'd assume it's the plate that gets covered in oil, the selector sensor jobby. Underneath the the car, on the left (I think) side of the box, quadrant shaped, undo the screws, and clean with degreaser/electrical contact cleaner etc.
Also while under there check the oil levels as suggested above.

Reverse is selected by a mechanical + hydraulic process, so it won't be an issue with the selector switch, IMHO. Low fluid level is the favourite.

Ahh fair enough. :y cleaning the switch worked wonders on a friend's car - but that wasn't on reverse. Good to know :)
