Title: Lazy stat?
Post by: relluf on 05 March 2015, 19:50:24
OK so I know my stat is lazy or stuck open :-[

Temp gauge barely moves in the cold weather unless working her hard, the car came up to temp today on a 140 mile round trip, but its much warmer today.
Question is what harm am I doing by not changing stat as a matter of urgency or is it ok to let it be for a bit longer?
Car runs fine ,heater works fine fans cut in when they need to, she just does not run warm at the gauge all the time.
So what am I likely to break do harm to?
Any thoughts welcome.

your car is just supping more fuel than it needs to be cos it'll be 'on choke' for longer  :y

That may well be Mark, but not enough days in the week at the moment for me, hence am I ok to leave it for a bit question :)
Wasn't really sure f it was doing more harm than good, but I guess it will be ok for another week or so.
