Title: Common 2.2dti engine management light faults...

Ages since I have posted and even longer since I had my mig, but...

I have just seen a cheap mig, with an unknown engine management fault light...

I have no access to the vehicle or any potential fault codes, so just initially wondering what potential causes could be...

To be honest, if you can't get the codes read I'd give it a miss, unless you want a breaker.
