Need to compare it with results for other cars that existed in 1994.... Certainly won't compare with any 2008 car.  :'(

What, 4 stars not good enough for you..........and remember that the different categories have different standards so the large saloon with a 2 star rating will be safer than a super mini with a 4!

Certainly feels a solid old barge and i'm of the belief that the more metal there is to fold up before anything gets to you the better! Probably not a very scientific description but hey ho!  :y

the only thing that concerned me was the side protection and possible damage to ankles from the pedals.  still feel safe in the old bus tho.

Take a 5* super mini and crash into an Omega - who comes off best?

When they did that on one of the motoring programs with a big old volvo.....the supermini behaved beautifully, the volvo was a mess and you would have needed cutting out :(
was a lot older than ours though

Yes, but the ratings only relate to that class of car... so a 5* supermini is only 5* against an equivilent car in it's class, in other words a 5* supermini is equivilant to a 1* Large family car due to the sliding scale they use.

It's a shame Ncap don't point that fact out though, perhaps the government doesn't like anything published in this country that puts a big car in a good light?
