I wish that were true but as usual the general public will sit back and let this government do whatever the hell they like just as they have been doing since first appointed.
-
I wouldn't mind your average M.P's brain it should last quite a while because it will have had little use! :D

Not just THIS government but all the ones before and all the ones after....this country is great at belly aching about the government policies yet we (as a collective) do sod all.
Doesn't matter if we vote labour/conservative ect we will still be screwed over and simply carry on complaining.
Ive said it before we need too take action and not just whinge....take a look at other countries and yes it does work.!!
Not having a pop at the OP or anyone else just people in general. :y

OK then what are we going to do?

OK then what are we going to do?
Simple mate...do as the Filipino"s do.
Mass peaceful rally...the people"s power in the Philippines carries a lot of clout, basicly people from all walks of life will unite and descend upon the capital and demand the president takes notice and more often than not the chaos caused (Capital virtual grinds too a halt) the president has no option but take action too appease the masses....if they don't well throwing them out of power is an option.
Million plus people makes quite an impact...... :y
Pretty much the beginning...

The problem is Londoners don't care about cars, and how much would it cost the rest of us to get there? About 30 quid for me just in tickets. >:(
Of course doing it locally is pointless because anything outside the M25 gets less attention than Scotland.

The truckers suited themselves. Think how much support they got from the public. They get a payrise and that's them happy. They should be fighting against the rise of the cost of petrol not how they pay for it. Same will happen again later on down the line.

The protests against fuel prices is what I was referring to. The radio said 89% of the public supports them.

That's it in a nutshell mate.... :y
We cant be arsed too make the effort....most filipinos live on the bread line (far too many under) yet they still were prepared too loose vital wages to demonstrate. ;)
(When i say bread line i mean quite simply if they don't earn that day they don't EAT that day :()
-
OK then what are we going to do?
Not a lot I'm afraid. Peaceful protesting never works, look at how effective the petitions I and many other thousands sign every day are. We're edging closer to a nanny state by the time we fight it, it'll be too late, if not already.
-
To the person who can afford to spend 30, 40, 50 plus thousand on a new car then the extra RFL will be small change in there pocket. As usual it is the hard working family man who is going to get stuffed yet again, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR it make my blood boil >:( >:( >:(
-
Well my MP gets found out tomorrow - he said he has had a lot of letters, so if he voted for it I will let him know he will be unemployed quite soon.

Oh but it does....its just we as a nation have never put any effort into it thats all. :)

For medical research the average body is worth about £2000, so at 303 for that is £606,000, or 3030 Omega tax rises - how many members do we have?
Brown is too old and only has one eye so that devalues him a bit.

£2000 is that all.....skin is worth a small fortune as the hospital wanted my consent to sell foreskin after circumcision.
Told they fetch large amounts (size dependant of course)when sold to research companies. :y
-
I was driving HGV's at the last blockade. The truckers had the country at a standstill, Only fuel for EMS and hospitals. Mr blairs cronies said 1 thing and then when the truckers backed off, they did a complete U turn, so my feelings are that we all have to suffer until the country sticks together. If the blockades strat appearing again the government WILL bring in the ARMY to cross the lines. They WILL order the POLICE to move any obstructing vehciles.
so Joe Public WILL go on suffering. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

I suggest people email Angela Eagle, the Treasury Minister (where was Darling?) who said in Parliament today that
Applying new road tax rates to vehicles after a certain date would be "difficult to determine, understandably complex" and would "create confusion" particularly in the second-hand car market, she added. "
What absolute drivel! Doesn't the DVLA have a computer? Through this tax the government is effectively reducing the value of older secondhand cars (which are more likely to be owned by the less well-off) thereby reducing the owners' ability to purchase a new "green" car, or even a secondhand as the values of those will increase.
I urge you to email her at eaglea@parliament.uk
..and tell your friends to do likewise :y

interestingly, tim yeo (tory)urged the govt, not to give in to motorists because saving the planet was much more vital.also,as i understand it the truckers are asking for a rebate for themselves as they are struggling so badly.i can see thier point but it divides road users from the off and the govt. sit back and smile knowing that divide and conquer is the oldest trick in the book.
-
I reckon if they charge us these outrageous prices for Road tax etc there will be more & more people who wont bother taxing or insuring there cars in West Yorkshire the figure is 1 in 6 is not insured/taxed, thus creating more problems, fines, courts, car chases as people try to avoid the police if spotted !
Even cloneing cars is on the increase, some sod from another area driving around with your number plate on, wont get stopped if the car looks same unless its in an accident or speeding and your paying for it full Stop ! >:(
PS this government suck its lost the plot & wont be around come next election I have voted Labour all my life now 64 but not next time they have & are committing too many upcocks !
Its like there not listening & dont give a S***

how are they going to band older cars? mine is a 97MY so no CO2 figures are given :question
-
They all follow like sheep on the promise of a "rethink" but it's blatant that he's not saying what he's going to do because the reality is come autumn he's going to do bu66er all!
I can understand the public mistakenly trusting a politician and expecting him to stick by his word but it seems his own kind are believing it. They must be more stupid than they seem. >:(

My mp said he had lots of correspondense moaning about this so of course he voted against the pre 2006 amendment - what about your constituents!!!!.
He gets snotty letter now! >:(

Time to rob these naffheads to get the money they are stealing from us.
this is to be expected from a goverment that rolls over on its back to the E.U.if you where born and bred in this country you have less rights than the rest of the worlds population that decide they want a part of our country!!we are the minority >:( >:(
-
EU there is a laugh. Our government is meant to be democratic - we're finding out how false that is. Now we're in the EU we will have new rules dictated upon us from a panel who we have no control over. WTF! :'(
-
I wouldn't mind if all the so called jump on a band wagon GREEN Taxes were actually used for the environment. Nothing wrong with protecting the earth - we only have one. Green taxes are more clever marketing to make everything seem OK. Why not tax all shipping using UK waters - they pollute.
Interestingly I see that Britain is building two NEW aircraft carriers. What on earth for? One good thing we could get out of the EU is EU protection paid for by EU countries. Why should little Britain jump into every fight going? maybe it is a way of showcasing our armaments business. That is one place all the tax is going.
The other thing that gets my goat is the exchequers' take on fuel and oil in general has rocketed beyond their estimates BUT darling hasn't come out and said everyone will get a rebate. No, that will be used for more hare brain stuff or to fund the Olympics when the true cost (taht any of us on the forum could have actually told them at the outset). Trouble is that the other parties are no better. Spin Spin Spin.
varche
PS what about a retrospective tax on children.................

Now this is not a problem for the initial costs of the ID card scheme we could have 4 carriers.
Scrap the ID card scheme rather than our self defence
-
Now they have voted to keep all these second home expences, even the new seems to suggest they are not in touch with the people. >:( >:( >:(
