I did wonder about texting you to see where you were on the circuit. But wasn't sure if I'd cost us both an arm and a leg or what sim you'd have in.
...but then I though a post on here would be safer. :y

I wish Hamilton would get rid of the 'bumfluff'
Either grow a proper beard or wait until you can......sonny. :)

Dorset would be right up the lovely Nicole's street, as some of the worlds most expensive property is here! 8)
Unfortunately, I don't own any of it! :'( ;D

Fibber. ;D ;D
Rumour has it that you own about 30% of the whole county. With such wealth Nicole is yours to do with as you please.

It's the truth M'lud! Rural poverty is a terrible thing. :'( So it looks as though I'd have to be Nicole's to do with as she please's. ::) Aaah well it has to be someone I suppose. :D :y

What a farce the Sauber driver saga is turning out to be.
Contract a driver who brings millions in sponsorship, then contract TWO more drivers who bring even more. Three drivers for two seats? I can see the team principle in jail for contempt of court and she is a lawyer.
Mclaren to qualify last on grid? I wonder how confident Button is in the car?
-
Practice 2.45 am.
Re Mclaren, given Magnusson ran off into the gravel for no real reason, I'd say they have issues, when you consider Alonsos odd prang.
I wonder if they are fiddling with brake vectoring, possibly in conjunction with energy recovery. :-\
-
Well that is truly shocking for mclaren.
Sauber didn't run van de Garde Guido so will be in contempt of court etc.
Nice performance from Hamilton. Probably keeping something back too. ;)
Good placings for Ferarri too. Nothing between Vettel and Raikonnen.
-
Given Mclaren are a year behind in track time, and a further two years behind pre rule change development, it's not surprising. Ron Dennis said in an interview that it was clear Renault had taken some risks in per suit of performance and it nearly cost them an engine. So Honda are making damn sure that doesn't happen. They aren't going to win, possibly not get in the points, so why risk anything more?
-
I'm sure Honda will come good, but it is going to take time, where the energy recovery systems are in clear need of further development. Honda have always done well in the past, when it comes to finding raw power and fuel efficiency with their engines the ones to beat in MotoGP.

I am more disappointed in the lack input from our correspondent "on the ground" (I hate that term) in Melbourne, tbh. Where's his report then. Hmm?
Too busy enjoying himself if he's got any sense ;D :y
-
Well, Melbourne is the home of cold beer... ;D
-
Well, he's tried to phone in his report, bless him, all the way from Aus. :y ...but unfortunately between the noise of the cars in the background and my groggy post curry startled waking to a phone set I'd left set to loud, thinking maybe something's wrong, where am I, where is he, what day is it? We didn't understand each other too well. :-[

Without posting any spoilers... Awesome atmosphere, processional race. Some interesting bits but generally processional.
Oh... And sorry for the alarm call! I expected you to be up and watching!! ;)
BTW... I'm on the outside of the track at the start of the braking zone for turn 9. Top of the bank, at the back, probably holding a baby in a pink/peach hat with pink ear defenders. She loved it, although did seem more interested in the helicopters for quite a bit of the race!

Camera shot detailing with that section is pointing straight at the cars head on.

The pattern for the year has been set with Hamilton getting the better of Rosberg. The Williams and Ferraris being pretty evenly matched but are unlikely to see anything other than the Mercedes gearboxes this season.
Until if / when the Manors start racing it looks like Button is going to have to get used to being 'Lanterne Rouge', if they make it to the start let alone the finish of a race! With their big budgets I can't believe how far Mclaren have progressively slipped down the order. Ferrari and Williams have been progressively solving their problems and becoming more competitive. Hamilton made a smart move when he left Mclaren for Mercedes. Is Alonso going to regret moving to Mclaren or have they got some rabbits to pull out of their hat when they get to Europe?
Good luck to the teams with Renault engines, only 30bhp more so still at least 50bhp less than a Mercedes engine! From driver comments even more difficult to drive where they have made the power characteristics even worse, all with that world famous Renault reliability, with 2 engines expiring at the first weekend and only 4 engines allowed per car all season. Looks like Renault engined teams are going to have to get used to more than 4 engine penalties later in the season!

Well that saves me watching it then :-X

Pretty nonplussed about today's race. Nice to see vettel do well as I like him.
But pretty bored watching it :'(
Rosberg sounds like he's resigned to coming second :-\

Vettel? Why?

I will admit I was looking forward to this years season, but I was bored watching it.... to the point I also fell asleep....

It was interesting to see Raikonen beat Vettel off the grid. I then thought Raikonen was very unlucky. He left space for Vettel and got shunted for his consideration. I have got a feeling that after a season playing a poor second fiddle to the great Alonso that Kimi is keen to show speed this season with what looks like a promising car. They also qualified quite closely.
