Title: iPad
Post by: The Sheriff on 15 March 2015, 20:09:59
Wifey says I should buy a new iPad. I have downloaded iOS 8.2 on to mine (old...iPad 2) and it has basically made it unusable for browsing. It takes an age to connect to the router when I want to, say, log on here. Yet the apps, which have to connect to the internet, work fine???
Anyhow, I've got my lads old iPad 2, which is still running iOS 7, and it works perfectly for browsing. So...I use one for browsing and one for banking, etc. she said I look silly constantly picking up and putting down different tablets, but it works for me........ ;D

Get your pinny on, do a bit of house keeping.  :-*

Clear the cache and history, reset factory settings, clear old apps, move pics to a cloud service etc.

Try battery doctor as well. Free up some memory....allegedly. Seems to work.

No, not slow, watching Grigor Dimitrov. Done all that, still no good. Only installed iOS 8.2 on Friday, they usually get enough grief for another update quite quickly.

My ipad 1 still works fine :)

It's just twice the weight and the screen is very dated.

Until they stick another gig of ram in theres no point buying another. Imo.

That's the size of the downloaded iOS8 installer which it will have downloaded.

my I pad lost the capability on the Sim Card last year after an update.
was told it needs a new card reader and they would not repair but give me the new version with some off the original price.
i said no.
kept the I pad and refuse any update since.

there is a way re installing recently updates but don't ask me how that works i gone for the tab s and works like a treat.
