Title: Brian's MV6
Post by: Terbs on 21 March 2015, 16:11:40
Have to say...feel a bit miffed.
After losing out on Brian's MV6, I see its now up for sale on Autotrader....for £200 more. Only been sold just over a week or so.
Fella says he has 'misplaced' the V5....weird ???
Luck does not go with me....just been beaten on another 2.6 V6 :(

Brian36...if you read this....was the bloke genuine ?

Tony,  He has not got the V5  because . . .

The guy he brought it from (Brian36 ) which was  last week I believe ,has to send it off to DVLA when he sells it. ::) ::)

Buyer /new owner only gets the green slip .  i think traders get the full V5 minus the "trader" slip which seller sends off.

Usually takes  at least 10 days  for new "owner" to get the new V5

Plenty of decent saloons around , 3.2's are a bit scarce but plenty of 2.6's        or even 2.2's   cough cough ::) ::) ::)

Terbs, go and see it, with cash in hand...

Offer him £250 less and explain that you know the car and know that the airconditiong needs a new condenser and pull him up on the 'dangle berries' about the V5/and how long he's had it...

He'll either tell you to sod off or bite your hand of... :y

Al's got a point, depending on wether you like your car comforts like A/C,then you would need that bit of cashback to get it fixed. :-\

I'm not knocking the car, it is a peach, the aircon being about the only thing that springs to mind, but if you go and see it and think the seller is taking the piss, then don't be to concerned about kicking him in the 'dangle berries'. Hypothetically speaking of course ::)

What estates have you got, are you interested in a possible swap for a saloon, that is mechanicaly fine but needs a jolly good clean. Will get it valeted in the Easter holidays, has some body damage on the rear nearside, only superficial.......... :)

How do you know they only paid £500 for it as was up for more on gumtree? They could at least be honest with it and just tell the truth and say it wasn't what they expected.

I am not bothered what it was sold for. Brian had every right to sell the car to whoever, and I do not in any way, shape, or form, hold it against him. Lets make that clear, please :y Obviously, after the ad was on here, someone offered him more. Just don't understand why someone buys a great car, then 8 days later, puts it up for sale with a write up that is second to none. My comment of '£200 more' was based on the fact that had I been a bit earlier, £500 was what Brian was asking . :y

hi terbert etc,
been off site for a while but noticed this, just to clarify i sold car to the chap in luton as he was up the day before terbert got in touch and said he would be back up next day, he then called said he had problem couldn't get up for car till next day but he said he definetly wanted it and being a man of my word i told him if he gets here then he can. mean while i had listed it on here for members less than selling elsewhere and terbert was in touch but as i said to him i had promised it to other chap but if he fails to come for it he would be first call. as far as the chap that bought it, he seemed ok but i did wonder why he brought a flatbed truck to collect rather than just calling his insurance and driving it away. i also find it strange he selling straight away, as if there was a problem then i would assume he would speak to me, so unsure but as taxi al and marks dtm would agree this car was in good nick besides the air con which was needing looked at again. anyways looking back it now if i had known guy was going to do this i would certainly have sold to good old terbert i hope this sorts this out and to be honest if the chap had called back i would have bought it back then. lastly he offered 630 so guess he putting on a few bucks but if he hadn't bought it i would have given terbert it for 500 sao thanks anyway and glad meet went ok terbert pity i couldn't be there :)
