I know a nice blue 2.5TD Elite, affectionately known on OOF as Project Tractor  ::)

i think if i could buy a 3L with the LPG already fitted i may go for that,, i`m hearing alot about cooking oil instead of diesel but just been tescos and its nearly as dear,,, it were only 39p per litre when i last bought some and made chips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mean Q is which is best the 2.5TD or 2.2??

I have the 2.2DTi & love it, loads of torque, good on fuel. I can't comment on the 2.5 as i've never had one, but going on what other's say, they're a bit of a slug unless chipped. I used to run my old 800 Rover on veg oil & i had no probs at all, but by all accounts the Omega pump doesn't like it  :(
I'd recommend a DTi to you going on my experience  :y though the gas way's the best IMHO for cheap fuel  :y

The BMW unit is smoother, but both produce similar power/economy.

I'd get yours lpg converted... At the price you're looking at you could have a professional fit done and it'll be cheaper to run than a diesel. Or do the conversion yourself... Buy a kit from Jeremy for considerable change from £1k and fit it yourself. If you speak nicely to some of the members on here you'll even get a bit of help!

Unless you can find a decent installer - go DIY
