Title: Mot due.
Post by: tooleater on 04 April 2015, 15:52:46
Greeting chaps, as above, visited local Watford Vx this morning, purchased oil + fuel filter. £21inc,no problem with that, priced disc + pad set £146 inc ok with that as that's what's going on anyway, also priced rear shocks £90 each :o I think not. Can someone recommend something suitable rear shock wise for Mv6 price wise and rear brake pipes need replacing, where do I get these. Wishbone kit as per Taxi Al s recommendation going in as well. Any volunteers  ;D

Balance Motorsport for Bilstein B4s... rears are about £57... http://balancemotorsport.co.uk/bilstein-b4-gas-rear-shock-vauxhall-omega-omega-b-estate-21-22-23-2-0-2-0-16v-2-0-dti-16v-2-2-16v-2-2-dti-16v-2-5-dti-2-5-td-2-5-v6-2-6-2-6-v6-3-0-v6-3-2-v6-04-94-07-03-19-028552-3670.html

As for wishbones, buy direct rather than through ebay... https://www.atp-autoteile.de/group/1150201/product/15808/18846/details

€97 against £95 on ebay.co.uk saves nearly £20 on their ebay uk price 8)

Corrected, with linky ;)

That's a good price assuming it's for two shocks. B4 aren't that much cheaper.

Get yourself a tc card. I'd stick with gm mv6 personally. Assuming springs are correct mv6 as well?

Can't help re-shocks,but if you're talking of the metal brake pipes and not the flexi hose then you can get them made up at a motor factors if you take the old ones in as a pattern or alternatively you can buy/borrow a brake pipe flaring tool and a roll of brake pipe and make up your own.Made up ones by a motor factor usually charged at so much per foot and so much per end.I believe most motor factors use kunifer pipe for this although some may do copper or even steel also,so price would vary depending on material type.

Also worth budgeting for shock top mounts, as if original, they will be pretty bollixed... VX easiest place to source a complete mounting kit :y
